Machine Knitted Lace Shawls

Machine knitted lace shawls on my 965i knitting machine using a design from the Stitch World Book. I tried different fibers to see how they would turn out. I will have the pattern in my next newsletter. Yarns I used was 1 strand of 6/2 cotton tension 7 with a crochet edging. I knit 2 shawls out of the 6/2 Cotton; one in purple and one in bleach white. I was very happy with the results. I knitted one shawl out of 2 strands 16/2 cotton in a beautiful coral tension 7. I then tried 2 of Stephanie's novelty yarns. 1 strand of a cream or bone color dress yarn Brentwood and then I knitted 1 strand of a seeds and nubs yarn in a royal blue heather dress yarn. Both these novelty yarns were acrylic and rayon combination. All the shawls I lace knitted the same stitch cast on and rows knitted, however the novelty yarns could have used a few more rows for a longer shawl.
